Double Majors

Please note that double major petitions are temporarily paused. Double major petitions will be routed through the TSS Specialization Request app starting later in the Fall quarter. Please keep an eye on this webpage for updates on when the app will be ready.

Please note the following for all future double major petitions:

• Students must satisfy all requirements for BOTH majors.
• Courses taken in fulfillment of lower-division requirements may overlap without limit.
• 10 upper-division courses (40 units) must be unique to each major.
• Each course must be a 4 unit course. (2 unit courses are not accepted.)
• If you are using Math courses for either of your majors, please note the following Math equivalencies per the general catalog for Econ andMath:

Econ-120A = Math-180A, 183 & 186. Credit not allowed for ECON-120A after ECE-109, MAE-108, MATH-180A, MATH-183, or MATH-186. Two units of credit offered for MATH-180A if ECON-120A previously, no credit offered if ECON-120A concurrently. 

Econ-120B = Math-181B. Credit not allowed for ECON-120B after MATH-181B. Two units of credit offered for MATH-181B if ECON-120B previously; no credit offered if ECON-120B concurrently. 

Econ-172A = Math-171A. Credit not allowed for both ECON-172A and MATH-171A.

Econ-172B =  Math-171B. Credit not allowed for both ECON-172B and MATH-171B.
